Mountain Updates

Wednesday, November 5th, 2025

The Okemo snowmaking team is looking to begin snowmaking for Okemo's 70th season this week.  The temperatures are expected to drop and remain colder, beginning Wednesday and continuing into Thursday night and early Friday morning.  The snowmakers will make a game-time decision on whether to try to make snow on Wednesday night, but do expect to be able to fire up the guns on Thursday.  This short window looks to end quickly, but it will give the team a chance to check things out and work out the kinks that are always prevalent after a long summer of no activity.  Colder weather is looking to arrive by early next week, also for another run at snowmaking.

Snowmaking will begin on Upper Count Down, Upper World Cup, Chute, Lower Chief, and down lower Mountain Road.  There will also be other upper mountain objectives which may include Upper Sapphire, Upper Arrow & Nor'easter.  It goes without saying that the team will go where the cold is. The expectation for the beginning of Snowmaking for the 2025-26 season is that the team will be working on the upper mountain.

This is great news to begin the snowmaking season as we prepare and march towards our opening day of Saturday, November 22nd.
