Happy Birthday, Okemo Mountain Resort!

Today, we celebrate the official start of our 70th season. Okemo opened on this day in 1956 after an 11” snowstorm with 3 trails and a Poma surface lift. Fast forward 70 years; today we are skiing and riding on 117 trails and 20 lifts will spin today. Over the past week, we have had 18” of fresh snowfall. We groomed that along with our snowmaking efforts to offer 43 miles of terrain consisting of machine-groomed and variable conditions.

The weather this morning will start colder, but it is expected to climb to the mid-teens with lots of sunshine. Our retail shops are fully stocked with everything you need to make the cold unnoticeable. Visit our stores located in both the Clock Tower & Jackson Gore Base Areas to buy face masks, heated gloves, a sweatshirt, or a set of toe warmers.

Warm up over lunch at one of our restaurants. Visit the Bull for Nachos and a Vermont Craft Beer, The Coleman Brook Tavern for a Gore Grilled Cheese or Blackened Shrimp Tacos, and 43North for a Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. Our quick service restaurants are also open. Stop in at the Base Cafe, Summit Lodge, Sugar House, Round House, and the Biergarten. Epic Pass holders can enjoy 20% off with Epic Mountain Rewards at these quick-service restaurants.

Join us to celebrate our milestone birthday in the Jackson Gore Courtyard for an Après Afternoon with music, food, games, cake cutting, cupcakes, and hot chocolate. Our staff will be there to greet you starting at 2 PM, and we’re happy to reminisce about the ol’ days and talk about the next 70 years!
