Sawyer's Sweep Zipline Tours
Okemo Mountain Resort's Adventure Zone is a vacation destination that is on the rise... literally. The Sawyer’s Sweep Zipline Tour enhances the many adventurous offerings at Okemo and takes guests to new heights. The high-flying treetop tour located on the mountain behind the Jackson Gore Inn features seven zipline segments that rise 40 to 50 feet above the ground, allowing thrill-seekers to soar among aeries previously inhabited only by indigenous birds and ambitious squirrels.
Each zipline canopy tour is approximately 2 hours long. Groups of up to 8 people are accompanied by two guides. Each guest is fitted with a harness and then becomes acquainted with safety procedures and techniques for riding the ziplines. Groups are then transported by van up the mountain to the first of seven ziplines that are connected by treetop platforms, two bridges and three rappels. The longest of the lines is 900 feet, and riders can soar at speeds up to 30 mph as they descend nearly 300 vertical feet from start to finish.
Reservations are highly recommended for all tours. Zipline riders must be at least 10 years old and weigh between 80 and 235 pounds. Riders between 10 and 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Riders must wear closed toe shoes (with enclosed heel). Check out the Sawyer's Sweep Zipline Tour FAQs document (PDF).
