Shopping in Vermont

While Vermont is not known for our shopping malls, there are plenty of unique shopping experiences both in and out of Ludlow! Here are a few options:

Downtown Ludlow

The Town of Ludlow offers a myriad of family run shops that pride themselves on good old-fashioned customer service. From fabrics and clothing, to postcards and art, hand cream or bag balm... you will not only find a collection of shops, galleries, and country stores, but a passionate group of local business owners. Check the Chamber website for listings.

Vermont Country Store

Whether you choose to visit the original location in Weston, or the "new" store in Rockingham, the real country store experience will not be missed.  The store's tagline... "purveyors of the practical and hard-to-find" fits them well.  Where else can you buy a wedge of aged cheddar cut from a 38-pound wheel, a long-lost apothecary brand or candy bar you can't find anywhere else?  Penny candy... well not quite a penny anymore!  Check out their website for more info.

Designer Outlets in Manchester Center

Located in historic Manchester, VT, about 30 miles from Okemo, the designer outlets offer many well-known brands with 30-70% off retail prices.  The quaint village makes a great day trip with plenty of restaurants and shops including Ann Taylor, Polo, J. Crew, Michael Kors, Coach and more.  Check their website for a complete listing of outlets and for specials.

Downtown Woodstock

Once called "the prettiest small town in America", Woodstock is a charming and historic little village complete with an array of galleries, shops and restaurants. From apparel and gifts to gourmet food and toys, there is shopping a plenty in this quintessential New England town. Check the Chamber of Commerce website for more info.

King Arthur Flour

The Baker's Store in Norwich, VT is packed with everything you need for your very best baking, from hard-to-find ingredients, innovative gadgets, and top-quality pans, to easy mixes and a huge selection of baking basics. Grab a cup of coffee and pastry from our café as you browse the aisles; relax and check your email with our free WiFi; then enjoy a sandwich at our picnic tables overlooking the pond.
