Trot it Off Race Results

LUDLOW, Vt. – On a crisp, wintery morning, under bluebird skies, 145 runners and walkers participated in Okemo Mountain Resort’s fifth annual Trot it Off. The five-kilometer road race and Tots’ Trot fun run for kids took place at Okemo’s Jackson Gore base area on Saturday, Nov. 30. The event raised $1,500 to benefit the Wendy Neal Scholarship Fund and Black River Good Neighbor Services.

Taking first place in the Tots' Trot fun race for kids under 12 was Thomas Long, 10, of Mechanicsburg, Pa. Michael Terry, 11, of West Hampton Beach, N.Y., placed second and Emma Cottrell, 10, placed third.

In the Men’s race, Richard Bardwell, 35, of Brownsville, Vt., took first place with a time of 20:42. Jon McKinstry placed second with a time of 21:03. Rounding out the podium with third place, and a time of 21:41, was Elliot Piatetsky, 38, of Brooklyn, N.Y.

Marie Smelser, 44, of Armonk, N.Y., was the first woman to cross the finish line. Her time was 23:12. Taking second place with a time of 23:48 was Elizabeth Novak, 27, of Ludlow, Vt. In third place, with a time of 23:57 was Mattie Ford, 27, of Charlestown, Mass.
