OKEMO TO HOST CONCERT FEATURING SUPERGROUP YUKON KORNELIUS, MARCH 16
Third Annual FestEVOL Also Showcases O.A.R., Tickets On-Sale January 11
LUDLOW, Vt. – For the first time in five years, the rock supergroup Yukon Kornelius will play the East Coast in a special one-night performance at Okemo Mountain Resort, Vermont on Saturday, March 16. The concert, which also includes O.A.R., is part of the third annual FestEVOL concert series.
Yukon Kornelius was founded in 2008 by Dave Matthews Band bassist Stefan Lessard, as well as Ed Robertson of Barenaked Ladies, Adam Gardner of Guster and drummer Eric Fawcett. Originating while the musicians were filming the Warren Miller sports movie, Children of Winter, their love for snowsports, charitable missions and music sealed the band’s creation. Soon after, news of the group grew in the music world; now when Yukon Kornelius plays, as many as 20 musicians and celebrities take the stage to perform together, resulting in A completely unique concert experience.
Additional musicians currently confirmed to play with Yukon Kornelius include Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Marc Roberge and Jerry DePizzo of O.A.R., Brett Scallions of Fuel and Brad Corrigan of Dispatch. Announcements on additional special guests are forthcoming.
Prior to Yukon Kornelius’ performance, O.A.R. will take the stage to open the evening. The band recently released their fifth live album and second live performance DVD, Live on Red Rocks, which was filmed and recorded at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater on July 15, 2012. The more than two-hour, 22 song performance captures the band in their element -- performing an inspired and energetic show to a packed house in the middle of summer.
This event is part of FestEVOL, a unique lifestyle experience combining snowsports with live music, innovative natural brands and the sustainably focused Reverb Eco-Village. The interactive village includes local, regional and national environmental non-profit groups alongside alternative energy and transportation exhibits. The Eco Village also highlights all natural and organic food sampling and ski and snowboard equipment demos. Details can be found online at FestEVOL.com.
The concert at Okemo on March 16 with Yukon Kornelius and O.A.R. will take place at the Ice House Arena, located at Jackson Gore.
