Barry Tucker and Eb Kinney

LUDLOW, Vt. – Okemo Mountain Resort’s Tim and Diane Mueller are pleased to announce the promotion of Eb Kinney to Director of Mountain Operations. As the Resort’s newest member of the Division Manager Team, Kinney is replacing Barry Tucker who retired in August.

Kinney began his career in the ski business at Mount Ascutney in the late 1980s and joined Okemo’s vehicle maintenance department in July 1990. He was promoted to the head of lift maintenance and he has held the positions of assistant mountain manager and mountain manager. Kinney will oversee all aspects of Okemo’s mountain operations: snowmaking, grooming, lift operations, lift maintenance, skier services, vehicle maintenance, purchasing, ski patrol, shuttle operations and winter and summer road maintenance.

“I’ve been very fortunate to have worked for, and with, Barry Tucker. He led by example; always push forward, never assume that you will succeed again, work hard and make it happen. That is exactly what we do. He has been a great mentor to all of us. Mountain Operations has played a major role in turning Tim and Diane Mueller’s ideas into reality. Working on these projects over the years has enabled us to create a great team. The Mountain Ops team has an enormous amount of pride, ownership, and most of all, loyalty to Okemo and Tim and Diane. I’m very proud to be part of this and look forward to the opportunity to lead this team.”

Rising above the village of Ludlow, in south-central Vermont, Okemo Mountain Resort is a four-season playground that built its reputation for quality and superior guest service as a winter retreat for skiers and snowboarders. Originally a small community-run ski hill, Okemo began to blossom in 1982 under the ownership of Tim and Diane Mueller. Creating “The Okemo Difference” consistently earns the Resort accolades and awards for snow quality, grooming, terrain parks, family programs, slopeside lodging, resort dining and guest service. In addition to an on-snow lineup of family fun, Okemo offers a variety of activities including ice skating, snowshoeing, tubing, a pool and fitness center, spa services, and family events and activities. Two 18-hole championship golf courses highlight the warm-weather offerings. The Resort’s Adventure Zone includes an all-season mountain coaster, zipline tours, miniature golf, disc golf, trampoline bungee jumping, a climbing wall, the Amp Energy Big Air Bag, Segway Personal Transport tours, and, debuting later this summer, a self-guided treetop challenge course. Okemo is the ideal hub from which to launch a New England adventure at any time of the year.
