November 6, 2009
Last night we received the first significant snowfall of the season! Everywhere from the base to summit was covered in beautiful snow. It seems that good fortune is upon us when we have our amazing snowmaking team working side by side with Mama Nature. Last nights low pressure system that brought the fresh is going to be edged out by a high pressure front, so there is no natural precipitation expected until mid-next week. Temperatures are going to remain below freezing in the Okemo Valley, allowing our award winning mountain operations team to resume blasting out snow for the foreseeable future.
We are all working hard to prepare the mountain for a fantastic season, so now it is up to you to book your Okemo vacation! There are great savings if you book midweek, and tons of other money saving deals so check out our Ski and Stay packages here. Nothing beats a great day on the mountain followed by delicious food and a cozy place to stay, so book now before it is too late.
Have any used gear you are trying to get rid of? Want to purchase some new items for this season at amazing prices? Well, then Okemo has you covered! The annual Ski and Snowboard Swap is coming up in 2 weeks. Items can be dropped off at the first aid building at the Clock Tower base area on November 14, 15 and 18. The swap begins on Friday, November 20 and continues through our opening weekend. You can find out more information by looking at our Events Calendar.
Make sure you join us on Facebook to be the first to hear all the snow updates, win free prizes (including lift tickets), and even an amazing deal that seems too good to be true. Exclusively for Facebook fans of Okemo Mountain Resort we are offering (drum roll please...) to open the mountain a day early on November 20th! You can ski or ride for only $15!!! If you do not have Facebook this is a terrific reason to make an account. You can also follow the Okemo snow reporters on Twitter at RafaelOkemo and OkemoMtnRoadie.
Be sure to check back for updates often as we will keep you posted up to the minute about all the happenings here at Okemo. Have a wonderful weekend and Think Snow!
