The Inside Edge
Good morning Okemo friends and family. It looks like we have a beautiful day ahead of us with mostly sunny skies and temps in the high 20s with machine groomed/loose granular conditions. Currently the base temp is 16 degrees and five degrees on the summit.
We have 89 trails and 12 lifts open today starting at 9 a.m. Day Break and Line Drive are back open, bringing you 516 acres and 34.8 miles of open terrain to explore and enjoy. Woohoo! Wardance will be on hold for race training. Moguls can be found on Sel’s Choice, Ledges, and Upper Limelight, while park features can be found on Hot Dog Hill, Black Out, and Nor’easter.
And now for a parks and pipes update (drum roll please)…The half pipe is being cut today with plans to open tomorrow for all PSP pass holders. Don’t miss out on the grand opening!
We have standard midweek ticket pricing today, but don’t forget to check out our many steals and deals online as well as our February Friday Facebook deals found on our fans only page. And as always, children six and younger ski and ride for FREE.
For other news around the mountain, the Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster and Tubing Hill at Jackson Gore will be open today from noon until 5 p.m. So, come ride Vermont’s very first alpine coaster or slide down one of our three tubing lanes. The AMP Energy Big Air Bag will be open today from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
We also have the Okemo Digital Scavenger Hunt in full swing. Make sure to check out the requirements online and submit your entries by noon tomorrow to be able to win an Okemo fun pack filled with stickers, Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster vouchers, and perhaps a surprise or two thrown in. Good luck!
Fun fact for the day: On February 10, 2011, various schools and organizations in 130 separate locations across Novia Scotia joined together to beat the previous 2004 record of 15,851 snow angels made at the same time. This time, students across Nova Scotia lay down in the snow, waving their arms and legs in unison to create an incredible 22,022 snow angels simultaneously. Any thoughts on giving this a whirl?
Enjoy your day! See you out on the slopes.
