JACKSON GORE OUTDOOR MUSIC SERIES PRESENTS
SKYLA BURRELL BLUES BAND JUNE 13

LUDLOW, Vt. – The Jackson Gore Outdoor Music Series continues Friday, June 13, with a free concert featuring the Skyla Burrell Blues Band.

A hard working, full time, traveling blues band The Skyla Burrell Blues Band plays more than 200 shows a year.  With co-founder Mark Tomlinson on lead guitar and Skyla Burrell on vocals and lead guitar, the band's live show consists of original high energy electric blues.

Skyla Burrell was born in LA and had a guitar in her hands by the age of 10. She formed her first band at the age of 13, and by 19 was doing session work at local recording studios in exchange for recording her original material.  In 1994 Skyla moved to the East Coast and continued working as a musician until meeting Mark and forming the SBBB in 2003.

Mark Tomlinson has been in the Blues business for over 20 years.  By the age of 21, Mark had scored gigs playing drums with John Lee Hooker and Bo Diddley.  After 20 years of beating the skins, Mark dropped the sticks and picked up the picks.  Mark’s guitar style is “nothin’ but the Blues,” from John Lee Hooker to Muddy Waters to Jimmy Vaughan.

For more information about the band, or to listen to a sampling their music, visit http://www.skylaburrell.com.
