IZ STYLE OUTDOOR ADVENTURE WEEKEND AUG. 16
LUDLOW, Vt. - On Saturday, Aug. 16, IZ STYLE brings outdoor adventure and entertainment to Okemo Mountain Resort. From noon to 5 p.m., resort guests and visitors can demo Specialized bikes, go paddling on Ludlow's lakes, tour the Reverb ECO Village and enjoy an outdoor barbecue at Okemo's Jackson Gore. Starting at 5:30 p.m., Audio Journal and the Pete Kilpatrick Band will perform a free concert in the Jackson Gore Inn courtyard.
Specialized will have more than 50 of their 2008 and 2009 bike models available for free test rides starting at noon on Aug. 16. Bike enthusiasts can demo a variety of models including Stumpjumpers and Epics, as well as Eras and Safires for women.
Extreme Adventures of Vermont will offer discounted kayak and canoe rentals, and provide complimentary shuttle service to Echo Lake for an afternoon of paddling fun and exploration.
Okemo's Jackson Gore will be the site for the Reverb ECO Village, an environmental "bazaar" consisting of alternative energy technologies, local and national non-profits, enviro-friendly products, voter registration, and other elements to enhance the overall Okemo experience while educating, invigorating, and inspiring visitors.
Starting at 5:30 p.m., the courtyard at the Jackson Gore Inn will transform into an outdoor concert venue featuring free performances by Audio Journal and the Pete Kilpatrick Band. The free concert is open to the public and all attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Summertime barbecue favorites and refreshments will be available or concert-goers may dine at Jackson Gore's Coleman Brook Tavern.
